Take a look inside the museum that houses the world's largest collection of Edvard Munch's artwork – MUNCH
Abstract Expressionism
After World War II, it was a time of uncertainty and dislocation. Paintings become spaces of concentrated energy and violence. Artists experimented with their paintings with raw materials: sand, tar, glass, metal dust and blood. The brutality and ugliness of many of these works reflect the destruction and absurdity of war.
As part of an upcoming exhibition around race and identity, we made three profiles of Black artists in Norway who are changing culture. This film features rapper Musti, who recently won two Spelleman prizes, and we happened to catch a historical moment in her life - when she found out she was nominated!
